WFLA-AM faces mistaken identity
WFLA-Ch. 8 wasn't the only place people called Sunday night to complain about the television station's decision to pre-empt Tiger Woods' U.S. Open finish. They also flooded the switchboard of radio station WFLA-AM 970, thinking the two media outlets are one and the same.

Station feels 'Spout Out' backlash
Thousands of calls and e-mails flood WFLA-Ch. 8 after the station interrupts Tiger Woods' historic victory at the 100th U.S. Open. "We made a mistake," said Dan Bradley, a Channel 8 vice president.

Actor Nancy Marchand, star of 'The Sopranos,' dies at 71
Nancy Marchand, the distinguished character actor who excelled at playing wise and imperious authority figures, and who achieved perhaps her greatest fame as the domineering mother of a mob boss in the television series The Sopranos, died on Sunday at her home in Stratford, Conn. Monday would have been her 72nd birthday.
