FLORIDA BLACK BEAR CURRICULUM WORKSHOP: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will present the Florida Black Bear Curriculum Workshop for teachers of grades 3 through 8 and leaders of youth organizations from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 10 at the Chinsegut Nature Center in Brooksville. The curriculum guide is a comprehensive series of interdisciplinary lessons on the natural history and conservation needs of Florida's black bear. It includes lessons in math, science, language arts, reading, history and geography. Activities are correlated to the Sunshine State Standards and include FCAT-style prompts. Participants will receive free curriculum guides and teachers are eligible for in-service credit.
