Man hit by lightning at golf course has his condition upgraded to good
Don Crist, the Crystal River pharmacist who has remained hospitalized since being struck by lightning along with three other people June 13 at Citrus Hills Golf & Country Club, had his condition upgraded Tuesday to good. Crist, 66, had remained in critical, then serious condition at Shands at the University of Florida hospital's cardiac intensive care unit in Gainesville since being struck by lightning. He was standing beneath a covered golf bag rack when he took the brunt of the lightning strike, said emergency workers who responded. He had just headed in from the course as bad weather approached, as had the other victims. The other people injured, two golfers and a course employee, each were discharged from hospitals the following day.
