LUTZ INDEPENDENCE DAY 5K RUN: Lace up your running shoes for a 5K run, 1-mile fun run or toddler races at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. This event is hosted by the Lutz Lizards Running Club. The cost is $12 in advance and $15 on race day. Awards will be given in the 5K to the first overall male and female finisher, top over-50 male and female finisher, top four in the under-9 age group, and top four in the over-80 and the first-place male and female finishers in the 1-mile race. Register in advance at Donovan's Service, 19019 U.S. 41 in Lutz, or at the community center on race day.
