HARKER, ROGER STEPHEN, 66, of Inverness, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000). He came here in January from his native Redding, Conn., and was a highway superintendent for the city of Redding, with 19 years of service. He was a member of the Congregational Church, Redding, and a Navy veteran. He was a life member of the Redding Ridge Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Leonard; a daughter, Linda Erhard, Danbury, Conn.; a stepson, Glenn Holmes, Redding; a stepdaughter, Sue Ellen Intondi Reiser, Lawrenceville, Ga.; a half brother, Raymond Baudry, Inverness; and four grandchildren. LENTZ, ELIZABETH FURCA "BETTY," 80, of Locust Grove, Ga., formerly of Beverly Hills, died Saturday (June 17, 2000). Born in Passaic, N.J., she came to Florida 22 years ago, moving to Georgia one year ago. She was retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant, Livonia, Mich. ROSE, JEAN MARIE, 68, of Inverness, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) at home. Born in Flint, Mich., she came here three years ago from Sault Sainte Marie, Mich. She was a records clerk for Tawas-St. Joseph Hospital, Tawas, Mich. Survivors include her husband, Harry Gordon; a son, Robert, Lansing, Mich.; two daughters, Vicki M. SHMELTER, JOSEPH, 99, of Beverly Hills, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000). Born in Cleveland, he came here 31 years ago from Independence, Ohio, and was a retired home builder. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Craftsman Guild, both of Beverly Hills. He was a Navy veteran of World War I. He was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran and retired from the Naval Reserve in 1977. He was a member of the Methodist Church for 70 years. BRAEUER, MARIE K., 87, of Lakewood, N.J., formerly of Port Richey, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) at Lakeview Nursing Center, Lakewood. Born in Long Branch, N.J., she lived in Port Richey until two years ago, when she moved to Lakewood. She was owner and operator of Marie's Beauty Salon for 25 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 117, New Port Richey. Survivors include a son, Douglas, Toms River, N.J.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. DICKE, ARNOLD FREDERICK, 87, of New Port Richey, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. Born in Allen County, Ind., he was a winter resident for many years before becoming a permanent resident three years ago from Vandallia, Mich. He was a plant safety director for Uniroyal, Fort Wayne, Ind. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and a member of a Masonic Lodge, Michigan. Survivors include a son, Ronald, Auburn, Ind.; a daughter, Carolyn Ann Dove, Kendallville, Ind.; a sister, Hilda Bennett, Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a nurse's aide at St. Joseph Hospital and attended Victorious Life Church. Born in Cleveland, he came here seven years ago from Holiday, where he lived for 12 years. He was a retired tool expediter for Ford Motor Co., Cleveland, with 30 years of service. He was Baptist. PATRIDGE, ROY J., 77, of Port Richey, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Clay County, Ill., he came here 16 years ago from Evansville, Ind. He was a salesman for Snap Photo, Evansville, and member of the First Methodist Church, Hudson. He was an Army veteran of World War II and member of the Masonic Lodge F & AM and the Eastern Star, both of Evansville. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, he came here in 1978 from Canton, Ohio, where he worked as a mechanical engineer at Timken Roller Bearings Co. for 47 years. - O'NEAL, VICTOR CRAWFORD, 92, of Clearwater, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) at Palm Garden of Clearwater nursing home. Born in Shickshinny, Penn., he came here in 1952 from Brockton, Mass. He was a retired Navy lieutenant and served for 30 years. He was a member of Old Fort Harrison VFW Post 2473, Clearwater, and the Fleet Reserve. Survivors include his daughter, Mary L. - WEISS, JASON, 29, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Clearwater, died Monday (June 26, 2000) at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute, St. Petersburg. Born in Stamford, Conn., he came here in 1978 from Trumbull, Conn. He owned and operated World Wise Returns and was a member of Temple B'nai Israel, Clearwater. He was an accomplished ballroom dance instructor and an avid fisherman. He came here in 1972 from his native New York City, where he owned and operated the Old Seidelburg Restaurant in downtown Manhattan. Locally, he owned and operated Lakeside Travel, Palm Harbor, until 1998. He was a past president and a Paul Harris Fellow with the Oldsmar Rotary Club and a former member of Seminole Lakes and East Lake Woodland country clubs. - MILLENNOR, WARREN D., of Oldsmar, died Friday (June 30, 2000) at home. He came here in 1983 from his native Madeira, Ohio, in 1983. He was a printer and an Army veteran during World War II. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Elks Lodge 2217 Women's Auxiliary, both of Pinellas Park. Survivors include a son, Ronald, Anna, Ill.; two daughters, Jacqueline Cottrell, Venice, Fla., and Connie Foster, Pinellas Park; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. - CURRIE, DARREL B., 86, of Pinellas Park, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) at Palm Garden of Pinellas, Largo. Born in Drew, Maine, he was a winter resident here since 1979 and moved here in 1995 from South Yarmouth, Mass. He was a special agent for the FBI in Boston, retiring in 1967, when he became assistant to the director of security for Raytheon, Lexington, Mass., until 1977. He was a member of Sunset Palms Community Church, Pinellas Park. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Charlotte I.; a son, Dr. Allan D., Bangor, Maine; a daughter, Barbara MacKenzie, Madison, Conn.; two sisters, Eleanor Parsons, Rockport, Mass., and Charlotte Stafford, St. Petersburg; and five grandchildren. - NEWSOM, CLIFFORD W., 67, of Pinellas Park, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He was born in St. Petersburg and was a plumber and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; two daughters, Kristin Corbin, Largo, and Karin Mathre, Bartow; two sons, Kevin, Anchorage, Alaska, and Mark Monnott, Tonawanda, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. - GECAS, FELIKSAS, 78, of St. Pete Beach, died Saturday (June 24, 2000) at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, South Pasadena. Born in Zemaiciu Naumiestis, Lithuania, he came here in 1982 from Santa Monica, Calif. He was a draftsman with Honeywell for many years and was a member of St. Casimir Mission, St. Pete Beach. Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Elena; a stepdaughter, Helga Roccaforte, Hull, Mass.; a brother, Vytautas Gecas, Montreal; three sisters, Milana Jonelis and Zose Mockus, both of Montreal, and Irene Gudath, Largo; and two stepgrandchildren. - WINIECKI, ROBERT V., 57, of Whitehall, N.J., a seasonal resident of St. Pete Beach, died Tuesday (June 27, 2000) in St. Pete Beach of a heart attack. He was a seasonal resident here for a year and a half and formerly lived in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree from the University of Detroit and retired in 1996 as a corporate executive after 32 years with Chrysler Corp. He was a member of Treasure Island Yacht and Tennis Club and the Titan Club at the University of Detroit. He was an avid sailor and golfer and was active with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Juvenile Diabetes Association, the University of Detroit Mercy and St. Regis Church. Survivors include his wife, Karen Anne; two daughters, Laura Ross, Bloomfield Hills, and Heather Winiecki, Birmingham, Mich.; a son, Christopher, San Francisco; a sister, Esther Grazioli, Dolton, Ill.; two brothers, Thomas, Des Plaines, Ill., and David, Manhattan, Ill.; and two granddaughters. - FLETCHER, WILLIE JR., "JUNE," 51, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (June 29, 1997) at home under the care of hospice. A native of St. Petersburg, he worked for the city as a special equipment operator for more than 23 years, receiving several safety awards. He was a member of Mount Zion Progressive Baptist Church. She was manager for 15 years of Natalie's Flower Shop, San Jose, Calif., and was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral. She was a member of the Sunshine Center and OES. - PENDERGAST, ROWENA K. HILL, 76, of Crystal River, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (June 28, 2000) in a car accident. Born in Woolmarket, Miss., she moved to Crystal River 32 years ago from St. Petersburg. She was a retired bookkeeper at Crystal River Middle School. She was a member of Gulf to Lake Baptist Church, active in its Shepherd Ministry, caring for the homebound, and the Florida Power Pioneers Club. Survivors include a son, Timothy R. He was operations manager for First National City Bank, New York City, retiring after 40 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II. She came here in 1970 from her native Cincinnati, where she was a member of the Women's Art Club of Cincinnati. She was an award-winning artist, specializing in watercolors.
