JOYAL, ELISE M., 90, of Beverly Hills died Thursday (June 22, 2000). She came here 29 years ago from her native West Warwick, R.I. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and the Shuffleboard Club. LAUBEN, CATHERINE ANNA, 88, of Inverness died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at Crystal River Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here 14 years ago from Levittown, N.Y., and was a retired telephone company clerk. She was Catholic. LAVOIE, BERNARD D., 83, of Spring Hill, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at home. Born in Fall River, Mass., he came here 12 years ago from Tampa. He was a manager for Northeast Airlines and then a supervisor for Delta Airlines, retiring with 39 years of service in the airline industry. He was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Massachusetts Club, Spring Hill. Survivors include his wife, Florence; three sons, Robert, Spring Hill, Michel, Rockledge, and Denis, Tampa; two daughters, Jeanne Thompson, Forney, Texas, and Jacqueline Cimino, Tampa; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. MORRISON, FERN HELEN, 83, of Tampa died Sunday (July 2, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Chicago, she came here in 1990 from New Port Richey. She was a homemaker and Lutheran. BELL, CLARENCE, 75, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Vencor Hospital -- St. Petersburg. He came here in 1989 from his native Tampa, where he was a construction worker. He was Baptist. BURKE, DOROTHY, 94, of Tampa, died Sunday (July 2, 2000) at Hudson Manor while under the care of LifePath Hospice. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she came here in 1995 from Clayton, Calif. She was an operator for New York Telephone Co. She was Catholic. Survivors include two daughters, Edwina Yank, Huntington, N.Y., and Catherine Novack, Tampa; a brother, Francis Kadish, St. Petersburg; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. CHOI, YOUWHA LEE, 86, of Valrico, died Wednesday (July 5, 2000) at Brandon Regional Hospital. Born in Masan, South Korea, she came here in 1973 from South Korea. She was a homemaker, a member of the Korean Association, the Korean Senior Citizen's Association and the Korean Full Gospel Church. Survivors include two sons, Limchul, Tampa, and Limkon, South Korea; two daughters, Mia Trotter, Valrico, and Mija Choi, Tampa; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. FISHER, ADA LENOIR, 94, of Tampa, died Monday (July 3, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Muscogie, Okla., she lived here most of her life. BOBB, ELAINE LELA, 65, of Port Richey died Saturday (July 1, 2000) at Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. Born in Chicago, she came here 21 years ago from Charleston, S.C. She was a cafeteria worker for the Pasco County school system and a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Hudson. Survivors include her husband, Lawrence; two sons, Christopher and Lawrence, both of Spring Hill; two daughters, Juanette Matteson, Claysville, Pa., and Marlene Dan, Hudson; two brothers, Thomas J. CLINTON, ODELL, 68, of Dade City died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at home. A Dade City native, he was a retired welder for Westinghouse and Pasco County. He was Baptist. CURRIE, DOLORES J., 77, of New Port Richey died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg. Born in Burgettstown, Pa., she came here 22 years ago from Turtle Creek, Pa. She was retired from Kmart and attended First United Methodist Church, both in New Port Richey. Survivors include two sons, David A., Slickville, Pa., and Bruce, New Port Richey; two stepsons, James, Anaheim, Calif., and Robert, Pittsburgh; two daughters, Leslie C. DuPONT, GEORGE J., 83, of Hudson, formerly of Palm Harbor, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. Born in Norwich, Conn., he came here 38 years ago from Fort Dix, N.J. He was a retired pilot in the Army with 28 years of service and was also a security officer for Tampa International Airport. He was Catholic. He was an Army veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War and a member of the American Legion Post 111, Tampa, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Retired Officers Association. FALCO, MARGARET M. "PEGGY," 39, of Port Richey died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, Hudson. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., she came here two months ago from Aberdeen, N.J. She was a secretary for the Aberdeen Township Police Department and a member of St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, Port Richey. McANINCH-TANK, VIVIAN E., 89, of New Port Richey died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. Born in Beaver Valley, Pa., she came here 30 years ago from Du Bois, Pa. She was a real estate broker for McAninch Realty and a member of Community United Methodist Church, Holiday. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine, both in Du Bois, the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 117, New Port Richey, and past president of the Colonial Manor Civic Association. RAMSEY, ROBERT KIRWIN, 77, of Holiday, formerly of St. Petersburg and Palm Harbor, died Tuesday (June 27, 2000) at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. He came here 45 years ago from his native Pittsburgh, where he was a retired civil engineer and efficiency expert for Westinghouse. He was an Army veteran of World War II. SMEAD, MORGAN L., 71, of Land O'Lakes died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Baldomere Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home, Land O'Lakes. He came here 48 years ago from his native Pavilion, N.Y. He was a laboratory technician in the mining industry and an Army veteran. He was Lutheran. Survivors include a son, Daniel Morgan, Auburndale; a stepson, Ronald O. THOMPSON, MURL JAMES, 75, of Zephyrhills died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at Hospice House of Dade City. Born in Litchfield, Ill., he came here one year ago from Racine, Wis., and was a retired machinist for the Navy. He was Lutheran. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include two sons, James, Zephyrhills, and David, Oshkosh, Wis.; four daughters, Linda Underwood, Madison, Wis., Karen Thompson, Debra Dubinski and Dawn Thompson, all of Oshkosh; three brothers, Gary, William, and Rollo, all of Racine; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. WALKER, LARRY D., 61, of New Port Richey died Monday (July 3, 2000) at home. Born in Chattanooga, Tenn, he came here three years ago from Belton, Texas. He was a retired master sergeant in the Air Force and also worked as a sales manager for Crown Marketing. He was Southern Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Stephen M., Frederick, Md., and Daren L., Beale Air Force Base, California; his father, D.E. ANDERSON, ADRIAN D., 11, of Clearwater, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg, of injuries sustained Sunday when an automobile hit him while he was riding a bicycle in Clearwater. He was born in Lafayette, La., and came here in 1994 from Atlanta. He was an honor student at Eisenhower Elementary School and was to attend J.F. Kennedy Middle School in the fall. He played soccer for the Clearwater Soccer Association and basketball at the Clearwater YMCA. Survivors include his parents, Trina M. and Karl J. Anderson, and two brothers, Aric and Aron, all of Clearwater; his paternal grandfather, Henry L. JELKS, HELEN I., 70, of Clearwater, died Saturday (July 1, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was a lifelong resident and graduated in 1947 from Pinellas High School, Clearwater. She retired after 42 years as a nurse's aide at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, Largo, where she sang in the adult choir. Survivors include four sons, Michael C. and Bruce A., both of Clearwater, and David E. and Frederick, both of St. Petersburg; two brothers, William M. Harris and Calvin D. PAGLIRO, MADELANE M., 91, of Clearwater, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at University Village Nursing Center, Tampa. She was born in Philadelphia and came here in 1955 from Louisville, Ky. She was a homemaker. She was Catholic and a member of the Italian-American Club of Clearwater. Survivors include two grandchildren, James L. PETERS, RAYMOND H., 85, of Clearwater, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He was born in Woodbury, N.J., and came here in 1979 from Cherry Hill, N.J., where he owned and operated gasoline service stations. Locally, he was a Realtor. He was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church at Countryside, Clearwater, the Masons and Shrine and a past president of the Lions Club in New Jersey. Survivors include his wife, Carrie Wilkerson; two daughters, Janet Peters Patrick, Hockessin, Del., and Carole Peters Broadwater, Elizabethtown, Pa.; a sister, Edythe Orens, Buena, N.J.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. PONDS, BIRDA L., 73, of Clearwater, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Palm Garden of Pinellas, Largo nursing home. She was born in Toney, Ala., and came here in 1955 from Nashville, Tenn. She retired as a housekeeper for the Byrons family in Belleair Bluffs. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church, Clearwater, where she served on the deaconess board, the home mission society and the usher board and sang in choir number 2 and the mass choir. Survivors include two sons, George Leslie and Dennis Ponds, and a daughter, Cheryl Ponds, all of Clearwater; a stepson, Ernest Washington, Tampa; a stepdaughter, Vivian Morris, Chipley; a sister, Mable Brown, Chattanooga, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. SULLIVAN, CYRIL J., 99, of Clearwater, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Arbors at Safety Harbor nursing home. He came here in 1970 from his native Pawtucket, R.I., and worked as a mechanical engineer. WILLIAMS, WALTER E. "WALT BRO," 65, of Clearwater, died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at home. He was born in Clearwater and was a grandson of pioneer Blanche B. Littlejohn. He graduated in 1954 from Pinellas High School, Clearwater. He retired in 1974 as an aerial photo technician after 20 years in the Air Force, and then retired after 14 years as plant operator for Florida Power Corp. Anclote Plant, Tarpon Springs. He was a member of Springtime Lodge 592 IBPOE of W, Clearwater. Survivors include his wife, Barbara C.; a son, Bryan E., Clearwater; three daughters, Leslie L. Williams, Wesley Chapel, Dawn M. - AVAGEANOS, GEORGE, 69, of Largo, died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. He was born in New York City and came here in 1966 from Long Beach, N.Y. He worked as a chef and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was Greek Orthodox. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Patricia; a son, Stephen, a daughter, Stephanie Armstrong, a sister, Katherine Fensky, and a niece, Debbie Wells, all of Largo. - BARKIEWICZ, JESSIE MARY, 76, of Otto, N.C., formerly of Largo, died Sunday (July 2, 2000) in a Sylva, N.C., hospital. She was born in Buxton, Iowa, and retired as a nurse respiratory therapist at Palms of Pasadena Hospital, South Pasadena. She attended St. Jude's Catholic Church, St. Petersburg. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jo Story, Otto; a son, Michael Barkiewicz; two sisters, Rose Moery and Virginia Valer, both of Michigan; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. - COTTON, HELEN, 89, of Largo, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. She was born in Hammond, Ind., and came here in 1978 from Bellwood, Ill. - MORRIS, KATY LEIGH, 10, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (June 29, 2000) in an automobile accident in Hopkinsville, Ky. A native of Gainesville, she came here in 1994 from Carrabelle. She was a student at Clearview Avenue Elementary School, St. Petersburg. She enjoyed camping, boating and fishing with her family. - MULHOLLAN, MARK SHEARER, 37, of St. Petersburg, died Friday, (June 30, 2000) at home. A native of St. Louis, he lived in Atlanta and came here in 1996 from Tampa. He was a media analyst for Coca-Cola USA for eight years and was past president, vice president and treasurer of the Atlanta Media Planners Association. In Atlanta, he was a volunteer for Project Open Hands, delivering meals to homebound AIDS patients, and the Bridge Family Center, helping abused children. He was past president, vice president and a director of the Line of Tampa Bay, a past secretary and a director of True Expressions and volunteered at the Florida International Museum. - NEUMANN, PHILLIP W. "PHIL," 58, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute. Born in Haddam, Conn., he came here five years ago from Middletown, Conn. He was a maintenance man for the Carlton Towers. He was a member of AARP and American Legion 75, Middletown. He was an Air Force veteran and was Methodist. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Debbie; four sons, Phill, Orlando, Erik, Clearwater, and Randy and Paul, both of St. Petersburg; and three grandchildren. - ROBERTS, GARLAND D., 92, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at the Masonic Home of Florida. Born in Polk County, she moved to Tampa at an early age before moving to Fort Myers and then to St. Petersburg in 1991. She owned and operated a beauty salon in Fort Myers and was a member of the Fort Myers Chapter 31 OES. She was Baptist. - SEEKINS, MARGARET BEAZLEY "PEGGY," 87, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at Suncoast Manor Health Center. Born in St. Catherines, Ontario, she came here in 1925 from Davenport, Iowa. She was part-owner and operator of Foley Carter Insurance Co., was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and attended Florida State University in Tallahassee. She served on the board of trustees of the Salvation Army and was a former member of Lakewood Country Club and St. Petersburg Yacht Club. She volunteered at Bayfront Medical Center's gift shop and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral. Survivors include a brother, David Beazley, St. Petersburg; two nieces, Diane Hernan, Pinellas Park, and Claire Hansen, St. Petersburg; and a nephew, David Beazley, St. Petersburg. - WYCKOFF, RAYMOND FRANK "FRED," 55, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (July 1, 2000) at home. He came here in 1950 from his native New Brunswick, N.J. - SCINTA, SANTINA, 96, of Seminole, died Tuesday (July 4, 2000) at home. She was born in Leonforte, Italy, and came here in January from Hamburg, N.Y. She was a homemaker and Catholic. - SWAINSTON, ROGER A., 83, of Seminole, died Sunday (July 2, 2000) at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Byron Center, Mich., and came here in 1979 from Dearborn, Mich. He worked 21 years in the tool and die department of General Motors Corp., Livonia, Mich. He was a member of Grace Community Church of Seminole, and VFW Post 9272, Seminole. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary; a daughter, Carmen Adame, Cocoa Beach; a son, Cornell Bologh, Cheyenne, Wyo.; a sister, Mae Spoolstra, Grandville, Mich.; six stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. - CARLIN, RALEIGH ANTHONY, 79, of Treasure Island, died Monday (July 3, 2000) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. A native of Pontiac, Ill., he came here in the early 1990s. He retired from the Illinois Department of Agriculture after 22 years and served in the Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Pontiac; Pontiac Elks; Pontiac VFW and DAV. He was an honorary member of the Kentucky Colonels and was a former Moose. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two sons, Kenneth Lee, Pontiac, and Robert Alan, Champaign, Ill.; three stepdaughters, Mary C. Wendling, Chenoa, Ill., Barbara V.
