Beach leaders may discover the parade's too sacred
The annual Holiday Parade of the city of Indian Rocks Beach, held in early December, is a fine affair. Its trademark is that the entrants do not content themselves merely with parading down Gulf Boulevard, which runs down the center of the narrow barrier island off the coast of Pinellas County, past the pleasant array of older motels not yet torn down for condos ("We Adore Pets," a sign promises), past family-owned restaurants and convenience stores and beach houses.
