  • DESPER, CECIL EARL "UNCLE CECIL," 92, of Crystal River, formerly of Clearwater, died Saturday (July 22, 2000) at River Oaks Assisted Living, Crystal River. Born in Mercer, Mo., he came here 10 years ago from Clearwater. He retired from McCarty Truck Line, Trenton, Mo., and Stone Buick, Clearwater. He was a member of Crystal River United Methodist Church and was a Navy veteran of World War II, receiving the Victory Medal, the American ERA Campaign Medal, the Asiatic-PAC Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a member of the USN Seabee Veterans Island X-18 of Citrus County. Survivors include a nephew, Stephen W., Tujunga, Calif.; and a niece, Sue Mayo, Crystal River.   • JOWETT, CHARLES HERBERT, 86, of Floral City, died Sunday (July 23, 2000) at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in North Adams, Mass., he came here two years ago from Williamstown, Mass., and was retired from the painting industry. He was Episcopalian.   • LEKAS, CLARENCE, 80, of Beverly Hills, died Sunday (July 23, 2000). Born in Chicago, he came here 12 years ago from Homewood, Ill., and was an owner-operator of a radio and television service. He was a member of Beverly Hills Community Church and an Army veteran of World War II.   • MEALEY, FRENCH, 81, of Crystal River, died Saturday (July 22, 2000). Born in Selbyville, W.Va., he came here 25 years ago from the Chicago area. He was a retired truck driver for the Teamsters Local 710, Chicago, and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Crystal River.   • PINELLI, JOSEPH ROSARIO, 74, of Homosassa, died Saturday (July 22, 2000) at home. Born in Philadelphia, he came here 28 years ago from Cape Canaveral. He was a retired radio officer with the Military Sealift Command, with 38 years of service. He was Catholic and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a retired member of the Space Coast Chapter of the Military Sealift Command, Cape Canaveral. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Niedzwiecki; two daughters, Christie Doty, Crystal River, and Maureen Faulkner, Homosassa; a sister, Nancy Galterio, Fort Lauderdale; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.     • TEMESY, EUGENE, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (July 22, 2000) at Integrated Health Services of Pinellas Park. Born in Hungary, he came here in 1976 from Royal Oak, Mich., where he worked for General Motors. He was a member of the Hungarian Club, Detroit. He attended Holy Family Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ilona; a son, Chuck Konya, Webster, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Konya, Vermillion, S.D., and Melinda Konya, East Lansing, Mich.
