BEAUDETTE, JEAN PAUL J., 79, of Beverly Hills, died Sunday (July 30, 2000). Born in Central Falls, R.I., he came here 10 years ago from Pawtucket, R.I. He owned an auto body shop in Rhode Island and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pawtucket. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the China-Burma-India Association, Inverness, the Beverly Hills Civic Association, and the Beverly Hills Recreation Association. Survivors include his wife, Angela Helen Matonis Beaudette; two sons, Brian P., Cumberland, R.I., and Paul J., Ramrod Key; a daughter, Theresa S. GUY, REVIS O'NEAL, 82, of Floral City, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at Advante Nursing Home, Inverness. Born in Waycross, Ga., he came to Citrus County from Winter Haven. He was the retired owner and operator of Guy's Gulf Station, Tampa. He was a house parent at the Florida Sheriff's Boys Ranch, Live Oak, and the Children's Home of Tampa. He was Protestant and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Nasworthy Guy; two sons, Roger O. and Robert F., both of Floral City; a daughter, Judi E. KOLLAR, THE REV. FATHER EDMUND, 80, of Lecanto, died Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2000) at Life Care Center of Citrus County. Born in Braddock, Pa., he came here 14 years ago from Stafford, Va. He was a retired Roman Catholic priest. Survivors include two brothers, John W., Westwood, N.J., and Edward, Pittsburgh; and two sisters, Helen Dunne, Lake Park, and Jeanne Flowers, Port St. Lucie. McSWAIN, MALACHI R., 73, of Crystal River, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2000) at Cypress Cove Care Center, Crystal River. Born in Chattahoochee, he came here 35 years ago from St. Petersburg. He was a retired coal yard supervisor for Florida Power Corp., Crystal River, with 29 years of service. He was Baptist and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 156 F&AM, Crystal River. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Lee McSwain; a son, John Michael, St. Petersburg; a brother, Emmanuel, Detroit; two sisters, Ruby Green, Chattahoochee, and Counstwilla Durvisseau, Cincinnati; and two grandsons. MINCIELI, ANITA, 69, of Citrus Springs, died Monday (July 31, 2000). Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., she came here 18 years ago from New York and was a bookkeeper in the accounting industry. PATTON, DON, 70, of Crystal River, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2000) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. Born in Helena, Ala., he came here 25 years ago from Tampa. He was retired from Florida Power Corp., Crystal River plant, and was a member of the Local 925 Operating Engineers, Tampa. He was Methodist and an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Elna; a son, Tony Bliss, Crystal River; two daughters, Mary Lou Johnson, Crystal River, and Jacqueline O'Steen, Zephyrhills; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. MULVANEY, ROSE, 92, of Inverness, died Monday (July 31, 2000) at Advante Nursing Home, Inverness. She came here four years ago from his native North Bergen, N.J., and was a retired seamstress. BOWER, CLARA B., 93, of Brooksville, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at Brooksville Regional Hospital. Born in Grandview, Va., she came here 14 years ago from Granada Hills, Calif. She was a homemaker and member of the Centralia New Life Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Daniel, Granada Hills, Calif., and David, New Albany, Ohio; a daughter, Clara Marie Watson, Brooksville; a brother, Ernest Bruce, St. Petersburg; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. PAULELO, SUSAN, 95, of Spring Hill, formerly of Palm Harbor, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at Oak Hill Hospital, Spring Hill. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., came to Palm Harbor in 1984 from Ozone Park, N.Y., and moved in 1994 to Spring Hill. She was a gold leaf specialist and worked 35 years for a Bible manufacturing company in New York. She was Catholic. Survivors include a daughter-in-law and caregiver, Lorraine D. Esmon, Spring Hill; two grandsons, Jerome Musial, Atlanta, and Thomas Musial, Pompano Beach; two granddaughters, Barbara Kugler, Glenmoore, Pa., and Melissa Palmer, Centerport, N.Y.; and six great-grandchildren. POTTER, ROBERT H. JR. "BOB," 67, of Masaryktown, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at home. Born in Tampa, he was a lifelong resident of the Masaryktown area and was a retired mail carrier for the Postal Service. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War and a member of the Hernando Cattlemen's Association and the National Rifle Association. Survivors include two sons, Robert H. III, Masaryktown, and John D., Little Rock, Ark; two daughters, Glenda Vasquez, Masaryktown, and Suzanne P. "Sandy" Potter, Live Oak; two brothers, David A., Brooksville, and Roberto H., Atlanta; a sister, Patricia A. Strickland, Tampa; two stepsisters, Gail Guess O'Neal and Rachael L. WILBURN, GLEN, 75, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday (Aug. 1, 2000) in Tampa. Born in Athens, Tenn., he came here in 1959. He was an automotive salesman. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a past commander and lifetime member of DAV Chapter No. 4. ADKINSON, JERRY C., 65, of Lake Wales, formerly of Tampa, died Thursday (July 27, 2000). He moved to Lake Wales in 1999 from here. He was retired after 20 years in public relations for GTE, was a past employee of Blount, Curry & Roel Funeral Homes & Cemeteries, and was a past employee for the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He was an Army veteran and was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Tampa. He was Presbyterian. Survivors include a son, Jay R., Maitland,; a daughter, Lucia Anne Wagoner, Jacksonville; and a grandchild. ALLEN, DIANA SUE MATHEWS, 55, died Saturday (July 29, 2000) in Tampa. She was a Tampa native and lifelong resident. She was a judge in the state's 13th Circuit, where she served in the criminal division since her election in 1990. Before being elected a circuit judge, she was a partner in the law firm of Stiles Allen & Taylor. She began as an assistant state attorney in 1977 and was instrumental in the creation of the Sexual Offense Division and served as its first chief. She was an Air Force veteran, member of the Divan Ladies at the Egypt Shrine in Tampa, past president of the board of directors of the Sexual Abuse Treatment Center, past president of Hillsborough Criminal Defense Lawyers, and was a lifelong member of Hillsborough United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Bill Brown; mother, Anne Davis Mathews Tuttle, Tampa; a brother, George David Mathews, Savannah, Ga.; a daughter, Nicole O'Reilly, Tampa; a son, Michael Brown, Tampa; and two grandchildren. BARRETT, MARGARET, 77, of Tampa, died Friday (July 28, 2000) at home under the care of LifePath Hospice. Born in Buffalo, Ill., she came here in 1985 from Winter Haven. She was a computer operator for the state of Illinois and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons, Gary L. and Kevin Stengel, both of Tampa; a daughter, Tammy Hanson, Grand Rapids, Mich.; a sister, Kathleen Beck, Springfield, Ill.; and a grandchild. CHASTAIN, VIRGINIA E., 86, of Tampa, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at West Crest Villa ALF. Born in Nashville, she came here in 1932. She was a homemaker. ENGELHARD, EDWARD L.F., 91, of Tampa, died Monday (July 31, 2000) at University Community Hospital on Fletcher. Born in Kearny, N.J., he came here in 1998 from Englewood. He retired as a fuel analyst for U.S. Steel in 1972. He was a 50-year Mason of the Englewood Elks and was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Marjorie Moody, Cape Elizabeth, Maine, Barbara Bisk, Tampa, and Priscilla Wile, Telford, Pa.; a brother, Dr. George Engelhard, Leesburg; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. GALASSO, VINCENZA, 95, of Tampa, died Monday (July 31, 2000) at Su Casa Nursing Home. Born in Italy, she came here in 1906. HALL, ROBERT DALE SR., 62, of Seffner, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) in Inverness. Born Belle Glade, he was a longtime resident of Seffner. He was a solid waste supervisor for Hillsborough County. He was an Army veteran and was a member of East Tampa Christian Church. Born in Lebanon, Pa., she came to Clearwater 25 years ago from Tallahassee and moved to Hudson seven years ago. She was a retired emergency room registered nurse for Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, and had also worked for Hospice of Florida Suncoast, Hospice of Pasco, and Hernando-Pasco Hospice. HICKS, GEORGE JR. "BUGGER," 49, of Oldsmar, died Monday (July 31, 2000) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. He was born in Safety Harbor and was a lifelong area resident. He was a self-employed plasterer and owned and operated Bugger Bear Stucco of Odessa. He was a member of Emanuel Tabernacle Baptist Church Apostolic Faith, Safety Harbor, where he served on the deacon board. Survivors include his wife, Betty J.; two daughters, Eloise C. He was a musician in Illinois and a car salesman for Tarpon Chevrolet, Tarpon Springs. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Calvary Chapel Worship Center, New Port Richey, the B.P.O. Elks Lodge 2284, and the Moose Lodge. - KOZIEL, CHARLES JOHN JR., 53, of Columbia, S.C., formerly of Clearwater, died Wednesday (July 19, 2000) of a massive heart attack at a hospital in South Carolina. He was born in Flint, Mich., and lived in Clearwater 12 years before moving recently to Columbia. He owned and operated Old Time Auto Repair Shop in Clearwater. He was a master certified heavy equipment mechanic and retired as president of National Oil & Supply Co., Springfield, Mo. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He received the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. After serving 11 years of active duty in the Army, including two tours in Vietnam, he joined the Naval Reserves where he attained the rank of first class petty officer. She graduated in 1988 from University of South Florida, Tampa, and in 1995 from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where she received the Fredrick K. Cox International Law Center Award for outstanding service. She was admitted to the Bar in both Florida and Ohio. Prior to moving to Ohio to attend law school, she worked at Trader Publishing Co., Clearwater. She headed a program to place foreign students in local jobs while in law school and was a founder of The Gathering Place, a cancer wellness facility in Cleveland Heights. She went to Washington, D.C., in 1999 to lobby for funding for cancer research and was honored in the Congressional Record on July 25, 2000, by Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio. She was Catholic and a member of Amnesty International and the Sierra Club. - MOSER, OLGA, 91, of Hickory Hill, Ill., a winter resident of St. Petersburg and former resident of Holiday and New Port Richey, died Monday (July 31, 2000) at St. Joseph Hospital, Joliet, Ill. Born in Germany, she moved to Holiday in 1960 and to New Port Richey in 1985. She moved to Hickory Hill in 1992 and became a winter resident of St. Petersburg three years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Evangelical Church, Willow Springs, Ill., and the Holiday Lakes Civic Association. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Burke, Hickory Hill, and Lorraine Kemblowski, New Port Richey; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. - RUNGE, ANNA M., 95, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Aug. 2, 2000) at Menorah Manor, St. Petersburg. Born in Hamburg, Germany, she came here in 1974 from Brooklyn, N.Y. For 40 years she was the bookkeeper and secretary for a landscaping company she and her husband, Walter, owned in Little Neck, N.Y. She was a member of Pasadena Community Church, St. Petersburg. Survivors include a daughter, Genevieve Poteat; two grandsons, William Dorr, St. Petersburg, and Robert Dorr, Hudson; three granddaughters, Sharon Pender, St. Petersburg, Barbara Doss, San Mateo, Calif., and Debra Wood, Salt Springs; and 14 grandchildren. - SHOCK, JOYCE M., 69, of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (July 29, 2000) at home. She came here in 1955 from her native Ypsilanti, Mich. She retired from the St. Petersburg Times circulation department. Survivors include a son, Robert M., St. Petersburg, three daughters, Kathy Swinsinski, St. Petersburg, Sharon Welch, Seminole, and Karen Parent, Sumter, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. - STEADMAN, MAUREEN BRENDA "MO," 67, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at Edward White Hospital. She came here in 1950 from her native Burlington, Vt. She retired from Aetna in Tampa after 15 years as an assistant nurse. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg. She was a member of various bridge clubs and sororities and was an avid bowler and pool player. Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Braunstein, Naples, Fla.; two sons, Stephen and Raymond, both of St. Petersburg; a sister, Alta Miller, Kenneth City; a companion, Joan Jarvis, St. Petersburg; two granddaughters; and three grandsons. - STOCKWELL, JAMES L., 88, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (July 31, 2000) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He came here in 1968 from his native Braxton County, W.Va. He was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, St. Petersburg. He retired as a coal miner after 37 years. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America. She was a retired bank teller, working for Union Trust Bank from 1936 to 1989. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a brother, William G. - WORKS, WILLIE JR., 76, of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (July 30, 2000) at Palms of Pasadena Hospital after a long illness. Born in Fitzpatrick, Ala., he came here in 1957 from Birmingham, Ala. He worked for the city of St. Petersburg for more than 20 years before retiring. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He was a Methodist and a member of New Bethel AME Church, Fitzpatrick. Survivors include his wife, Rose Lee; two daughters, Wilargene Works-Murdock and Diane Works, and two sons, Robert Works and Larry Bush, all of St. Petersburg; two brothers, Amos, St. Petersburg, and Henry, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two sisters, Coyzette Fitzpatrick, and Fermie MaeWorks; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. - ENDROM, CLEMENT, 73, of South Pasadena, died Saturday (July 29, 2000) at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he came here in 1986 from Long Branch, N.J. He was a powerhouse operator for Procter & Gamble. He was a member of the Kids & Kubs of the Three-Quarter Century Softball Club and a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels and worked with disabled children. He was a Navy Seabee during World War II, serving in the Aleutian Islands. Survivors include five sisters, Maria and Clara Cammarano, both of Long Branch, Anna Garofalo and Virginia McGinn, both of Staten Island, N.Y., and Fanny Hansen, Vero Beach; and a brother, Vincent, Staten Island.
