  • HMELAR, JOHN JOSEPH, 76, of Pinellas Park, formerly of Inverness, died Thursday (Aug. 3, 2000) at St. Petersburg General Hospital. He was born in Jersey City, N.J., and moved to St. Petersburg seven years ago from Inverness. He was a shipping clerk supervisor for Penn Central Railway System. He was Catholic and a U. S. Navy veteran. Survivors include two sons, Paul B., Largo, and Mark, Orlando; a brother, Andrew, Hackensack, N.J.; a sister, Mae Scoccemarro, Toms River, N.J.; and two grandchildren. Chas E.   • TOZZINI, LEE, 83, of Crystal River, died Thursday (Aug. 3, 2000) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. He was born in Throg's Neck, N.Y., and came here 29 years ago from Arlington, Va. He was a retired warehouse manager and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was Christian. He was born in Hartford, Conn., and he came here 20 years ago from East Granby, Conn. He was a retired bank auditor, and he was Protestant. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 4 F&AM Wyllys of St. Johns, Hartford; the Valley of Hartford Scottish Rite; the Valley of Norwich Scottish Rite; the Spring Hill Lanes Bowling League; and the Timber Pines Community Association. He was a retired engineering assistant for CSX Railroad, Tampa, and he was Protestant. He was an Air Force veteran, a member of B.P.O.E., Waycross, Ga., and a past member of the Mid-State Antique Bottle Collectors of Florida.   • ADAMS, MAURICE J., 77, of Clearwater, died Thursday (Aug. 3, 2000) at Morton Plant Rehabilitation Center, Clearwater. He was born in Gloucester, England, and came here in 1995 from Long Pond, Pa. He was a retired systems operator and worked 35 years for American District Telegraph Security Systems in Paterson, N.J. He was an award-winning bowler and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, Safety Harbor, and worked in its gift shop. He was a member of the VFW, Denville, N.J. Born in Miami, she moved to Clearwater in 1979 and to St. Petersburg in 1989. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of usher board No. 3. He was a U.S Air Force Veteran and a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church of Dunedin. He was a 1954 graduate of Ohio University and a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon.   • REED, WILLIAM TOWNSEND, 61, of Clearwater and Three Lakes, Wis., died Friday (July 28, 2000) in Three Lakes. He was born in Evanston, Ill., and came here 1983. He worked for the Reed Candy Company, Chicago, and served as vice president until 1973. He owned and operated the Whale's Tail restaurant. He graduated from Forest College. He was an avid yachtsman and a member of Carlouel Yacht Club, St. Petersburg Yacht Club and the Union League Club, Chicago. Born in New Rochelle, N.Y., he moved to Tampa in 1996 from Pinellas Park. He was an industrial engineer for Sperry Rand. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.     • GOODSON, RAYFORD B. "RAY," 79, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Aug. 4, 2000) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He came here in 1936 from his native Kayuka. He worked for Florida Power Corp. and Dick Mitchell Electric. He founded Goodson Electric in 1956 and was an electrical contractor and consultant in Pinellas County until his death. He was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School and a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Cherbourg, France. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Linda; two sons, Richard, Oconomowoc, Wis., and Michael J., Seminole; a daughter, Christine Goodson, St. Petersburg; a stepson, Robert B.     • HABGOOD, ALICE MALVINA, 97, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (Aug. 4, 2000) at Bayfront Medical Center, St. Petersburg. She came here in 1921 from her native Louisville, Ky. She was a homemaker, an artist and a musician. She was a member of the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra, the St. Petersburg Community Orchestra, DAR and the Art Club of Franklin, N.C.
