It starts innocently enough when your 12-year-old forgets to clear his dishes off the table and dump his dirty clothes in the hamper -- until you realize that's the third time this week. Then you recall that you've been the one feeding his pet gerbils all summer. And guess who has lost three baseball caps, a new pair of soccer shin guards and his house key?
