A terrified call for help
A day after a Land O'Lakes woman shot an intruder who broke into her home in the Turtle Lakes subdivision and tried to rape her, the Pasco Emergency Communications Center released a tape of her call for help. Maria Pittaras called 911 at 1:51 a.m. Wednesday from inside her home, emergency officials said. Here is the transcript:

As a grandparent of one of the team members I know how hard they practice and how dedicated their parents are. They practice five days a week with swim meets three to four times a month.
