  • COLLINS, MOSES, 82, of Hudson, formerly of Homosassa, died Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2000) at Community Hospital of New Port Richey. He came to this area 20 years ago from his native Logan County, W.Va., and was an appliance repairman. He was a member of the Church of God. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include several nieces and nephews including Robert Collins, Hudson. Strickland Funeral Home, Crystal River.
  • McFUFFIN, MAMIE, 79, of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (Aug. 10, 2000). Born in Hot Springs, Va., she came here 24 years ago from Oak Hill, W. Va., She was a retired LPN. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She also was a member of the Beverly Hills Civic Association, the Moose Lodge, W. Va., the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary, and the vice president of the Democratic party, Fayetteville County, W. Va. Survivors include two sons, Buddy, Crystal River, and David, Beverly Hills; a daughter, Janet Culbertson, Inverness, two brothers, Carl Vass, Rhodell, V. He was a retired special equipment operator at the Crystal River Florida Power line department. He was Baptist. He was a member of the Gulf Hammock Hunting Club and the Saco Hunting Club, Saco, Ala. He was a retired clerk from the law firm of Webster & Sheffield, N.Y., and Francis I. Davenport & Company, Wall Street. He also was a mail supervisor and clerk of the commodity exchange.   • ADORNO, MARIA, 76, of Dade City, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (Aug. 8, 2000) at Heritage Park Specialty Care Center, Dade City. Born in San Tuce, Puerto Rico, she moved to Dade City two years ago from Tampa. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kingston, N.Y. Survivors include a son, Raymon, Dade City; three daughters, Elizabeth Adorno, Dade City, Margaret Garcia, Tampa, and Carmen Adorno, Kingston; a sister, Olga Miranda, Tampa; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was the owner of a security guard company and attended Faith Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and very active in the Boy Scouts. Born in Four Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, he came here 44 years ago from Orange, Mass. He was a retired general mechanic for Innisbrook Resort, Palm Harbor, and previously was owner of Bud's Garage, Orange. He was Methodist and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, Tampa, the York Rite Bodies, the Masonic Lodge 112 F&AM, Tarpon Springs, member and assistant chief photographer for press corps of the Egypt Temple Shrine, Tampa, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10167 and the Military Order of Cooties, both of Holiday, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars National Home.   • HENRY, JODI EUGENE, 34, of Hudson died Monday (Aug. 7, 2000) as a result of an automobile accident. Born in Yuba City, Calif., he came here two years ago from Willaims, Calif. He was the owner of Holy Ground homeless shelter and attended area churches. He was a radiologist and founder of Price, Hoffman, Stone and Associates and a graduate of Mississippi State University, attending on a four-year football scholarship and was part of the team that won the 1941 Orange Bowl. He was a 1948 graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical School and had a diagnostic radiology practice in Pensacola for seven years. He was chief of radiology at Bayfront Medical Center, chief of staff for Apollo Medical Center and chief of radiology for Edward White Hospital before retiring in 1993. He was voted Edward White Hospital Physician of the Year in 1993. He was an Air Force veteran, attaining the rank of captain and was a longtime member of Azalea Baptist Church and a member of Pasadena Community Church, the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Society, American College of Radiology, North American Radiology Society, Florida Radiology Society and the Pinellas County Medical Society.
