Researchers can test your risk of diabetes
Since February 1994, the National Institutes of Health, in cooperation with the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, has been pursuing the goal of preventing Type 1 (insulin dependent) diabetes. The nationwide launch of the Diabetes Prevention Trial -- Type 1 marked a new era in the research that will advance scientific progress toward this remarkable goal, according to Della Matheson, a registered nurse and the trial coordinator for the study at the University of Miami.
