Kegney, 20, of 13194 Ester Drive near Royal Highlands subdivision was arrested Thursday after he kicked open the home's front door Aug. 19, went to the master bedroom and took the cash, as well as three men's rings, three necklaces, two watches, two money clips, five sets of cuff links and three bracelets, a sheriff's report said. When investigators questioned him, Kegney initially denied committing the burglary, then later said he did it and promised he would turn the jewelry into the Sheriff's Office, a report said.
