TAMPA -- Virginia Lohn told her 11-year-old son, Martin, that she had a very important meeting to attend Tuesday night. The School Board was going to choose names for three new schools.

Worker accused of shooting crane with nail gun
After the bird was found limping in New Tampa, the nail in it was traced to a construction worker, officials say.

TAMPA -- Chris Card, an influential social worker who has tried to transform how Florida deals with abused and neglected children, has been named to run a key child welfare agency in Hillsborough County.
