Sheriff's office worker faces sex abuse charge
LARGO -- A Pinellas sheriff's office radio operator was arrested Wednesday on a child sex abuse charge. James Robert Craine, 20, of Largo, was charged with lewd and lascivious battery based on suspicion he had sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy in late 1999, arrest reports state. Craine was hired as a complaint writer in August 1999, then was promoted to radio operator in the communications center in April 2000. He was placed on administrative leave with pay after his arrest and will be investigated to determine whether he will remain a sheriff's office employee, officials said.
