Refund request takes odd turn
I don't know what came over me to allow an "interviewer" for Bringing People Together talk me into paying $4,995 for a dating service on Sept. 11. Stupid me; it's not like me either. I canceled the membership within three days according to the home solicitation sales agreement, and the company acknowledges that. I received a credit for the amount I paid by credit card, then in a letter dated Sept. 27, Bringing People Together advised me to stop payment of my check, worth $2,500. Well, I can't stop payment of a check that it already cashed on Sept. 13, the day I canceled the membership. The money is in its account!
