AUTO PARTS MERGER COMPLETED: Advance Auto Parts Inc. of Roanoke, Va., said that it has completed its purchase of Discount Auto Parts Inc. of Lakeland. The combined auto parts retail chain will have annual revenues of $3.1-billion. As part of the deal, Advance Auto Parts becomes a publicly traded stock beginning today trading under the symbol "AAP."
Tropicana to close bottle factory
BRADENTON -- Orange juice giant Tropicana Products Inc. is shutting down its glass bottle factory, leaving 225 people without jobs by early 2003.
