A ticket to paradise lost
Our story so far: Paulie's death has spooked the remaining members of the small group of friends who had pooled their money and bought a lottery ticket that turned out to be a $13-million winner. The ticket has not yet been cashed in and the friends hope to use the money to buy the campground before Jimbo Hobbs sells it to a developer.

Parkway, politics kept us busy
INVERNESS -- The election saga didn't touch Citrus County as much as it touched other parts of Florida. But Supervisor of Elections Susan Gill and her staff still had plenty of work to handle after Nov. 7 -- work that attracted almost as much attention as anything that happened during the 2000 campaign season.

Lecanto shows it is tourney tough
BROOKSVILLE -- Fran Copp always has insisted that his Lecanto wrestling team is built for tournaments.

Performers of the week
LECANTO WRESTLING -- MIKE DUCA, JIMMY RODRIGUEZ and HAROLD SKIDMORE -- Each wrestler claimed first in his respective weight class in last weekend's Kiwanis Invitational in Brooksville, leading the Panthers to a third-place finish. Duca won at 125 pounds, Rodriguez at 112 and Skidmore at 130. Rodriguez took first in last year's Kiwanis Invitational. The title was Skidmore's second in three seasons in the event. He finished second in 1999. In capturing his third individualchampionship of the year, Duca defeated top-seeded Ryan Hall of Zephyrhills 2-1 and improved to 15-1.
