GIBSONTON -- Mandy Schuerman, a starting pitcher for East Bay's softball team the past three years, will start her senior season a little more relaxed. She recently signed a full four-year athletic scholarship with the University of Florida.

"I think the University of Florida is the best place for me," Schuerman said. "They have a great program and I am looking forward to being a Gator. I am glad I signed early. I feel I will play better my last year at East Bay with my college future already signed."

Last year, Schuerman recorded 193 strikeouts with an ERA of 0.72. She also hit .407 for the season.

In her first three years as an Indian starter, she made the All-Hillsborough County team in each season. She also made the first-team All-Suncoast team as a sophomore and junior and second team all-state both seasons.
