AT STAKE: The Seminoles, in their third consecutive Bowl Championship Series finale, can claim at least a share of the national championship with a win and become the second repeat champion in 21 years. The ESPN/USA Today poll automatically crowns the winner of the game that pits the BCS-computed No. 1 and No. 2 teams its champion. (The AP is under no obligation.) Meanwhile, Oklahoma, which hasn't played for a title since 1987, is going for its seventh.

SERIES RECORD: Oklahoma leads the series 3-1, including two bowl wins, the 1980 and 1981 Orange. FSU's lone win came in the 1965 Gator Bowl as Fred Biletnikoff had 13 catches for 192 yards and four touchdowns.

HE SAID IT: "I don't really care who is there. If my mother were coaching, I think I would want to whip her. I think that was well documented against Tommy, wasn't it." -- Bowden, when asked if it makes a difference to him that he must beat Stoops, who as defensive coordinator at Florida in 1996 ruined FSU's title hopes.
