Catholic church's winter fair to begin Thursday

St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4450 County Road 579, will host the Tri-County Winter Fair and Craft Show Thursday through Jan. 14. The event will feature arts and crafts, midway rides, clowns, face painting, food and live entertainment. Fair hours are 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Jan. 14. Admission and parking are free. All-day ride wristbands are available at the church office for $10 until Tuesday or during the fair for $12. A student special will be offered for $7 a wrist band on Thursday evening. Local sewing group plans to meet Wednesday

"Sew Special," the Tampa neighborhood group of the American Sewing Guild, will have its regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at JoAnn ETC, 12635 Citrus Park Plaza. Membership is $35 a year. For information, call Marilyn at (813) 963-7822.

Cockroach Bay Users Group plans meeting

Soroptimists group of Tampa to meet Thursday

Soroptimist International of Tampa will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn City Center, 111 W Fortune St. Guest speaker Andy Lutton of LifePath Hospice will discuss the different programs and services hospice provides to the community. Congressman to speak at Business luncheon

The Internet Business Association Intl. will meet Wednesday at the Rusty Pelican Restaurant on Rocky Point, 2425 Rocky Point Drive. Congressman Jim Davis will discuss issues and concerns from the information technology industry in Tampa.
