Casual dining: Michael's Grill, a casual gourmet restaurant, opened two weeks ago in the Main Street Shopping Center, 11720 N Dale Mabry Highway, (813) 964-8334. Lunch specialties include the "Port of Tampa" sandwich made with Portabello mushroom, grilled eggplant, tomato, provolone cheese, fresh basil and pesto;the "Clearwater," a black grouper sandwich;or dinners such as the "Snapper Princess" or "Steak Oscar".

Pizza shop closes: The once popular CDB's Italian restaurant at 5305 Ehrlich Road closed its doors three weeks ago.

TAMPA PALMS

Jewelry store opening: An upscale jewelry store is opening soon in the Palm Lake shopping center, soon to be renamed the Shoppes of Amberly.

David Alexander Fine Jewelry of Tampa Palms will open this month at 15349 Amberly Drive in a 1,350-square-foot space in the shopping center.

David Alexander, which specializes in custom and designer jewelry, has another location at 1546 Dale Mabry Highway.
