Woman charged with abuse, DUI after auto crashBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published January 7, 2001 SEMINOLE -- A Seminole woman was arrested Friday on child abuse charges after authorities said she was on morphine when she got into a Nov. 11 auto crash with her two children in the car. The children, a 9-year-old son and an 8-year-old daughter, both were injured and taken to Bayfront Medical Center. The injuries were not serious, sheriff's officials said. Neither child was wearing a seat belt. Their mother, Heidi E. Laskarin-Post, 32, of 10337 Blossom Lake Drive, was arrested Friday night on two child abuse charges and a charge of DUI with injury. She also had been taken to the hospital after the crash. "She was shaking and feeling dizzy," said Marianne Pasha, a sheriff's office spokeswoman. Sheriff's officials said Laskarin-Post ran her 1992 Toyota into a tree at Seminole Boulevard and Blossom Lake Drive about 10:45 p.m. Nov. 11. A drug screen determined she had morphine in her blood, arrest reports state. Laskarin-Post was being held in the Pinellas County jail Saturday afternoon on $3,250 bail. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
