Travel briefsCompiled from Times wires © St. Petersburg Times, published January 7, 2001 B.C. ski resorts rank well in pollBritish Columbia clobbered Colorado for the top three spots in a Conde Nast Traveler magazine poll ranking the top ski resorts in North America. Nearly 2,000 readers responded to the survey. They were asked to evaluate 158 resorts using six criteria: terrain and conditions, accommodations, town ambience and amenities, lifts and lines, food and service. British Columbia resorts won first, second and third places, but in the "best overall" category, six Colorado resorts made the top 10. The top three, all in the Whistler-Blackcomb, B.C., area, were Westin Resort & Spa, Chateau Whistler Resort and Pan Pacific Lodge. The rest of the top 10, in descending order, were: Lodge and Spa at Cordillera, Vail, Colo.; Wyndham Peaks and Golden Door Spa, Telluride, Colo.; Vail Cascade Resort, Colo.; Sonnenalp Resort of Vail, Colo.; Ice House Lodge & Condominiums, Telluride, Colo.; Amangani Resort, Jackson Hole, Wyo., and St. Regis, Aspen, Colo. It includes detailed information about the company, the ship, activities and news. More than 70 percent of The World's 110 residences have been sold or reserved.
