Warnings for those traveling abroadBy Tiems wires © St. Petersburg Times, published January 7, 2001 The State Department constantly updates its consular information sheets on countries around the world, but lately there has been a surge of updates as well as "warnings" and slightly less urgent "public announcements." Travelers heading to the following countries can check out the updates at the Web site http://travel.state.gov or by calling (202) 647-5225. Most recent announcements are for Indonesia and East Timor, Nepal, United Kingdom, Guinea, Fiji, Bosnia and Herzogovina, Peru, Poland, Malaysia, South Korea; warning, Angola. Most recent information sheets are for Jordan and Turkmenistan.
