If you've made a resolution to help out children in the community, now is the perfect time to get involved at local schools. Here are a few that can use your help:
- Belcher Elementary, 1839 S. Belcher Road, Clearwater, needs mentors for struggling students in all grades.
- Clearwater Discovery Middle, 1220 Palmetto St., Clearwater, needs pre-algebra tutors for struggling sixth- through eighth-graders. It also needs tutors in all subjects for students in the Doorways Scholarship program.
- Kings Highway, 1715 Kings Highway, Clearwater, needs African-American male mentors for struggling students. Additional mentors needed for students in the Doorways Scholarship program.
- North Ward Elementary, 900 N Fort Harrison Ave., Clearwater, needs mentors for two students in the Doorways Scholarship program.
- Sandy Lane Elementary, 1360 Sandy Lane, Clearwater, needs mentors for three female fifth-grade students.
- East Lake High, 1300 Silver Eagle Dr., Tarpon Springs, needs algebra and geometry tutors.
