Focus on volunteers

Abilities of Florida, an organization providing vocational evaluation, skills training and job placement services to people with disabilities, is seeking volunteers for the Florida Gulf Beaches Marathon, Jan. 19-20 on Clearwater Beach. Volunteers will monitor the starting and finish line, distribute water and register participants. For information, call Victoria Avila at 538-7370, ext. 327.

The city of St. Petersburg's Citizen Review Committee is looking for volunteers to monitor citizen-generated complaints against St. Petersburg police officers. Membership is for three years. For information, call Debra Bynum at 893-7229.

The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast will hold a volunteer orientation from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Hospice's south community service center, 5639 49th St. N, St. Petersburg. Hospice also will offer a session at 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Hospice House Woodside, 6770 102nd Ave. N, Pinellas Park. For information, call Kathy Roble at 586-4432.
