Class notesBy Times staff reports © St. Petersburg Times, published January 11, 2001 CHILD CARE FOOD PROGRAM: Enchanted Moments Preschool, 4950 S Suncoast Blvd., Homosassa, announces sponsorship of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Child Care Food Program. Meals will be available to enrolled eligible children and will be provided without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability. Parents of eligible children must apply for the program. Contact the school for information. CHS PROJECT GRADUATION: The Citrus High School Class of 2001 will graduate on May 29 and is looking forward to a safe, alcohol- and drug-free celebration after the graduation ceremony. The CHS Project Graduation 2001 is seeking donations from the community to make the all-night graduation party possible. Donations can be sent to CHS Project Graduation 2001, P.O. CFCC NEW CLASS OFFERINGS: Central Florida Community College is offering several new non-credit classes in Citrus County for the Spring 2001 semester. Beginning Cross Stitching will meet from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Tuesday for five weeks on the Citrus Campus. The fee is $25 and beginning kits may be purchased for $12 from the instructor. Basic Photography will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning Tuesday for five weeks on the Citrus campus. The fee is $30. The first class of REIKI, the Japanese art of universal life energy, will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 27 on the Citrus Campus. The fee is $100 and lunch is included. Introduction to Flight will meet from 9 a.m to noon Jan. 20, Feb. 17, March 24, and April 21 at the Crystal River Airport. The fee is $75. Register for any of these classes at the CFCC Enrollment Services office on the Citrus County campus. For information, call 746-6721, ext. 6110. COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM: The Withlacoochee Technical Institute is accepting applications for the cosmetology class which will start in February. The course will be from 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays for about 11 months. The cost is about $1,900 and financial aid is available for qualified students. Applicants must be 18 or older. EDUCATOR TO SPEAK: Gladys Alexander, Florida Retired Educators Association District Four director, will address the Citrus County Retired Educators at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 in Room 115 of the Withlacoochee Technical Institute. Retired educators are invited to attend and affiliate with the local unit of FREA. Refreshments will be provided by the Withlacoochee Culinary Arts Department.
