STUDENTS OF THE MONTH: Crystal River High School and West Citrus Elks Lodge 2693 announce the Students of the Month for December, Maria Bueno and Peter Manzoli. Maria has been active in National Honor Society, as Spanish Club president, on the academic team, on the Advisory Enhancement Council, in Interact and Key Club, as vice president of Junior Civitan, as captain of the soccer team, as boys' tennis manager, as a religious education teacher at St. Benedict's Catholic Church and as a Citrus Memorial Hospital volunteer.

She has received the Principal's Award for Excellence and an academic letter and was a homecoming court candidate. She plans to attend New York University and pursue a master's degree in international business. Maria, 17, has a 4.32 grade point average and is the daughter of Vivian Roy and Fernando Bueno of Crystal River.

Peter has been active in soccer, swimming, track and tennis, as president of student council, in National Honor Society and in his church youth group. He was a Boys State member as most valuable representative and an academic booster recipient. He qualified for state swimming and all-conference soccer. He plans to attend the U.S. Naval Academy. Peter, 17, has a 4.14 grade point average and is the son of Mike and Lynn Manzoli of Crystal River.
