Homeless shelters seek volunteersBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published January 12, 2001 The Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless is seeking volunteers who can work overnight at shelters that are set up to house the homeless on cold nights. In addition, the coalition is asking for donations to help pay for meals, hygiene items and laundry for the shelters. The shelters have stayed open seven nights this winter, compared to nine last winter. Donations can be sent to: Pinellas County Coalition for the Homeless, P.O. Box 11195, St. Petersburg, FL 33733.
