End times are now, couple believe
By ANGELA MILLER © St. Petersburg Times, published January 13, 2001 ZEPHYRHILLS -- Jesus is coming and Bill Waters wants people to know. "Prophecy has been fulfilled and Jesus is coming," Waters said. "I want people to experience his grace and be ready to meet him." Waters, 53, is with the Florida Conference of Seventh-day Adventists in Orlando. He and his wife, Sunshine, 55, have traveled throughout Florida for the past five years presenting prophecy from the Bible and the message of Jesus Christ. "If you don't believe the Bible, we hope you do after you leave," Waters said. Waters, who developed the program from his 30 years of Bible study, uses multimedia presentations while focusing on the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation, which reveal signs of the end times. Hundreds of mailers were sent to local residents inviting them to a series of presentations on Bible Prophecy Made Simple at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Zephyrhills. "This is a community service and for people of all faiths," Waters said. Waters will give the free presentations at 7:15 p.m. weekend nights through Feb. 11. Topics include the Mark of the Beast, Your Date with Destiny, Daring Deceptions and Why So Many Denominations? He mainly uses the King James version of the Bible for his teaching. Waters said he has dedicated his life to this service because he feels we are living in the end times. Sunday night's message was titled Angel Appearances World Wide. Waters gave statistics about people who believe in angels and have bought books about them, and he showed clips from a television show where people said they saw angels. He described angels as secret agents for God. He used Bible verses to confirm various work of angels. For example, Psalm 91:11 says: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all ways." He also used verses to show that there are both good and evil angels. With this, Waters impressed upon the viewers the importance of not following miracle workers. He said the devil wants to deceive and destroy. Raymond Pelto, who is an elder at the Seventh-day Adventist Church and resident of Zephyrhills, said he plans to attend most of the sessions. One of the things he likes best is that Jesus is exemplified in every doctrine, he said. Marjorie Eklund of Zephyrhills received a brochure in the mail and brought a friend, Betty Zipp, who was visiting from Michigan. Both said they enjoyed it and plan to return for the series on the Mark of the Beast. Tim and Donna Pettis of San Antonio, Fla., said the topics on the mailer caught their attention but that they really didn't learn anything new. "We have attended different seminars throughout the Tampa Bay area," Donna Pettis said. "This is just one more piece of the puzzle."
