Citrus County's Tobacco Free Partnership and Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) will be having a faith-based SWAT Rally today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Jesus Is! Ministry II, 1402 Mineral Court in Hernando. All Citrus County faith-based youth and their parents are invited to attend; admission is free. There will be music, anti-tobacco games, activities and prizes. Free soft drinks and snacks will be provided.
The mission of the groups is to promote healthy tobacco-free lifestyles and to reduce acceptability and accessibility of tobacco to youth through education and advocacy, with the support of law enforcement. Their purpose is to reduce tobacco-related illnesses and deaths in the community. SWAT is a state-supported organization that gives young people a leadership role in reaching their peers with the anti-tobacco message. Call Frank Mattera at 726-0509 or The Jesus Is! The 12th panel program for World Religion Day will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Country Oaks Inn, Highway 44, Lecanto. This year's program is "Personal Spirituality." World Religion Day was initiated by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United States in 1950 and is now sponsored by the Interfaith Council of Citrus County as well as the Baha'i community.
The purpose of this day is to bring people of different religious faiths together to discuss a single topic which will bring out the similarity of their beliefs. Speakers include Rabbi Zvi Ettinger, the Rev. Dale Stewart, Dr. Mamdouth Zeini, and Dr. Charles Bullock. A solo will be performed by Edwin Mambala, a musician and songwriter originally from Malawi in Southeast Africa. An audience discussion will follow the program, and refreshments will be served. Inverness Church of God will begin a new session of "Hallelujah Diet" classes for those who would like to learn to eliminate sickness, have increased energy, a greater sense of well-being and lose weight if necessary on Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The diet is based on a program developed by Dr. George Malkmus who was diagnosed with colon cancer 22 years ago, but who became cancer-free after one year of following the diet of raw fruits and vegetables, as well as exercise and freshly extracted juices.

Couples United in Christ Ministries will be presenting a Marriage Seminar Weekend for married and engaged couples at the Promise Land Retreat & Counseling Center on Friday at 7 p.m. through Sunday noon. Cost for the weekend is $225 and includes registration, lodging, meals, and class materials.
Drs. Bud and Fran Weinheimer, DD, are the keynote speakers and will teach the personal and practical application of the Principals of Kingdom of God Living for marriage and family relationships.
