BROOKSVILLE -- The Hernando County Branch NAACP's annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration will commence with a memorial service at 7:30 tonight at Bethlehem Progressive Baptist Church on S Brooksville Avenue.
On Monday, NAACP officers and members will march from the old courthouse on S Main Street to the NAACP headquarters; the lineup will begin at 9 a.m. and the march will kick off at 9:30 a.m. Following the march will be an unveiling ceremony of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. street sign (which will replace Summit Road).
Additional activities will follow in Kennedy Park at 11 a.m. Martin Luther King Jr. T-shirts and caps will be available for purchase, as well as food and drinks. For information, call Alyce Walker, 796-8130.
