The Citrus County Democratic Executive Committee will meet on Wednesday, at 7 p.m. in the Beverly Hills Community Center, One Civic Circle, Beverly Hills.
Chairman Joe Cino reminds all county Democrats that the first meeting of the year is very important because he will appoint precinct representatives for the year at this meeting. For information, call Cino at 628-7191.
The Citrus County League of Women Voters will meet at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Aquatic Buffer Preserve, 3266 Sailboat Ave. N, Crystal River.
Mario Anzalone, administrator of Angel Care Community Mental Health Center in Homosassa and director of operations at The Oaks in Seven Rivers Hospital, will be the guest speaker. NAMI Citrus, the newly formed local chapter of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill, a grass-roots education and advocacy organization supporting the mentally ill, will be the subject of Anzalone's address. He is on the Board of Directors of NAMI Citrus.
The meeting is open to the public and Anita Taylor, LWV president, advises that to reach the Aquatic Preserve one should go North on 19, turn left on the Days Inn corner and follow the road west. For information or directions, call Taylor at 382-5602.
The North Suncoast Republican Club will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Sugarmill Woods Golf & Country Club, 1 Douglas St., Homosassa. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.
The guest speaker will be Monroe "Al" Coogler Jr., member of the governing board of the Southwest Florida Water Management District. He will discuss the concerns of Swiftmud in regards to the current drought and potential courses of action which may be taken regarding this problem. For information, call 382-0811.
The Central Ridge Republican Club will meet at 5 p.m. Jan. 22 in the Central Ridge Library community room, 425 W Roosevelt Blvd., Beverly Hills. Residents in the Central Ridge area, which includes Pine Ridge, Citrus Hills, Black Diamond, Timberlane Estates, Citrus Springs, Beverly Hills and surrounding areas, are invited. The Yankeetown-Inglis Republican Club will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Yankeetown Woman's Club, 5 56th St., Yankeetown. The guest speaker will be Weston Stow, chairman of the Citrus County Republican Party, and chairman of the chairman's caucus. He will install the incoming officers. The public is welcome.

The East Citrus Republican Club will meet at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 27 at Jim's Cafe at the Central Motel, 721 U.S. 41 S, Inverness.
