Foiled pizza robbery leads to man's arrestBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published January 14, 2001 A Brooksville man was charged with robbery and criminal mischief after police say he attacked a Domino's Pizza delivery man and jumped on his car as the man drove away. Danny Lee Lanigan, 22, of 16172 Fruitville St. southwest of Brooksville, was arrested and charged about 10 p.m. Friday after the delivery man contacted the Hernando County Sheriff's Office. The victim had attempted to deliver a pizza at the Sandhill Trailer Park when Lanigan and a friend met him in the road, according to police records. The men motioned him into a driveway, where the friend opened up the passenger door, telling him to hand over $10. When the delivery man refused, the friend tried to punch him and missed. The victim fought him off and started to drive off. The friend fell off the car. Then Lanigan jumped on the car, trying to grab the victim. Eventually, Lanigan fell off the car, too. The fray caused a dent in the car door, which would not close. After the victim called the sheriff's office, police found and arrested Lanigan at the trailer park at 16486 Pointview Drive. He was taken to Hernando County Jail, where bail was set at $11,000. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
