Faster hydrofoils serve MontevideoBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published January 14, 2001 Travelers between Buenos Aires and Montevideo, Uruguay, have two choices for water transportation. An article last Sunday reported on the overnight boat, but reader Evelyn Castillo reports that there is also a hydrofoil service between the cities. Unlike the slower boat, the hydrofoil makes the trip in 21/2 hours, several times a day, aboard modern Buquebus ships, Mrs. Castillo says. A first-class ticket costs about $70 one way. She terms the trip, which she and her husband have taken, "a wonderful alternative to the crowded airports." For information, go to the Web site http://www.buquebus.com.
