CLEARWATER -- A Largo High School student injured in a crash Friday remained in critical condition Monday at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Angela Bernardini of Pinellas Park was injured after another motorist ran a red light and struck her car at Missouri Avenue and Belleair Road, Clearwater police said.

She was flown by Bayflite helicopter to Bayfront. The driver of the other car, Robert Lee Knowles, 34, of St. Petersburg, faces felony charges of driving with a suspended license, police said. He was treated at the hospital for injuries he suffered in the crash and was released Sunday. A passenger in Knowles' car also was treated at the hospital and released.
