Police reportsBy Times staff reports © St. Petersburg Times, published January 16, 2001 Man arrested, jailed in attack on juvenileHOLIDAY -- Pasco County sheriff's deputies arrested a 32-year-old man Sunday after he allegedly attacked a juvenile in his Holiday home. Shedrick Leroy Willis Jr. of 4203 Woodfield Ave. was arrested after the juvenile told deputies that Willis had put his arm around her neck and choked her as she was trying to call 911. The victim was not identified because of her age. She told deputies Willis then twisted her arm until she fell to the ground. He also pulled the phone cord out of the wall to try to prevent her from calling 911, a report stated. Willis was charged with child abuse, domestic battery and tampering with a witness. He was taken to Land O'Lakes jail, where he remained Monday in lieu of $7,000 bail. Purse, cell phone taken by assailant, woman saysPORT RICHEY -- A 37-year-old woman reported that as she left Rosie's Bar and Grill on U.S. 19 at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, she was knocked to the ground and kicked in the mouth by an unknown man who then stole her purse. The woman, who is from Port Richey, told the Pasco County Sheriff's Office that she did not need medical treatment. Deputies said there are no suspects and no witnesses to the crime. The woman had about $200 in cash in her purse and a cell phone. She told deputies that she didn't get a good look at her assailant and probably couldn't identify him.
