Meeting to discuss proposed site for facility

Hillsborough County staff will hold a public meeting to discuss proposed sites for a potable water facility in northeast Brandon. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 30 in the cafeteria at Burnett Middle School, 1010 N Kingsway Road. Construction on the $10-million project is slated to begin in late 2002. Hospice seeks volunteers, offers training session

LifePath Hospice needs volunteers to provide companionship to Hospice patients and their families. A training session will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, from Jan. 30 to Feb. 27, at Southerland Place, 3401 W Bearss Ave. Volunteers will work in their own communities. Alzheimer's caregivers program scheduled

The USF Suncoast Gerontology Center, 12901 Bruce B Downs Blvd., will present "Alzheimer's Disease: What Caregivers Need to Know" from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. Jan. 31. The free program will offer caregivers tips, resources and information to help them understand the disease, manage troublesome behaviors and learn current treatment and research opportunities. Free presentation offered on living trusts

The American Family Legal Plan will present a program on revocable living trusts at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 31 in the Hillsborough Room at the Chase Suite Hotel, 3075 N Rocky Point Drive. Banquet to honor those who promote technology

The 2001 DIGI Awards Banquet of the Internet Business Association will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Wyndham Harbour Island, 725 S Harbour Island Blvd. The keynote speaker will be Peter Fingar, international technology consultant and author of books on e-commerce and the digital economy. Dinner will be served at 8 p.m. Cost is $35 for members, $50 for nonmembers. Tables of 10 will be available for $300 for members, $450 for nonmembers. Reservation deadline is Jan. 29. Sales professionals to discuss public speaking

Charter Review Board meeting Thursday

The Charter Review Board will hold a public meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday in the second floor boardroom of the County Center, 601 E Kennedy Blvd. The board will discuss and take testimony on ballot language proposed for public referendum in the November 2002 election.
