USF's Jay Black, the Cole Endowed Chair in Media Ethics and Press Policy, and Thomas Smith, assistant professor of government, will speak on Understanding Ethical Issues, at 6 p.m. Monday in the Campus Activities Center. This is the first in a series of lectures, "Ethical Issues in Florida's Future," that will explore such issues as politics, race and ethnicity, popular culture, education, growth management and the environment, business, and the emerging generational conflict.

The Academy of Senior Professionals at Eckerd College will present Dan Hirschfield, who will speak on The Zenith of Intellectual and Colonial Life: Greece and Rome at 3 p.m. Friday in Lewis House. This is part of the ASPEC Introduction to Archaeology series. Call 864-8297 for information.
