Erin Bailey, Lecanto girls basketball

During a four-game stretch that began Jan. 13 and ended last Friday night against Lake Weir, the senior forward averaged 24.8 points a game.

She scored a school-record 36 points against North Marion, then had games of 19, 28 and 21, respectively. During those four games, Bailey scored 47 percent of Lecanto's points.

"Right now, she's hot," Panthers coach Ron Allan said.

Honorable mention

GIRLS BASKETBALL: Danielle Albury of Seven Rivers Christian scored a game-high 32 points and had 10 rebounds against Ocala Shores Christian. She recorded 18 points and 11 rebounds later in the week against Gainesville Countryside.

Sherry Atwood of Seven Rivers Christian logged a triple-double against Ocala Shores Christian, finishing with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Citrus' Kristen Berger scored 15 points against Gainesville.

Kylene Colasanti of Lecanto hit five three-pointers and scored a team-high 20 points in a 62-59 win against Springstead.

BOYS BASKETBALL: Jamal Galloway of Citrus scored a team-high 19 points in a loss to Central.

Chianta Smith of Crystal River had 14 points in a loss to Lake Weir.

Frankie Squire of Seven Rivers Christian pumped in 26 points in a victory against Ocala Christian Academy.

GIRLS SOCCER: Amy Bowen of Citrus scored three goals against Dunnellon.

Jennifer Dobran of Lecanto recorded a goal and two assists against Central.

Amber Gidden of Lecanto had four goals and two assists against North Marion and two goals against Central.

Amber Presnick of Citrus scored two goals and had three assists against Lake Weir.

Laura Woythaler of Citrus scored twice against Lake Weir -- the first two goals of the sophomore's career.

BOYS SOCCER: Brothers Donny and Josh Caldwell of Crystal River scored three goals each in a win against Lake Weir.

Damian Kopera of Lecanto stopped 10 shots and recorded a shutout in a 1-0 victory against Central.

Alex Posta of Citrus scored three goals against Dunnellon.

Greg Schell of Lecanto accounted for the Panthers' only goal against Central.

WRESTLING: Crystal River's Matt Hinman (275 pounds) pinned his Lecanto opponent to clinch a Pirates win.

Brady Pratt of Crystal River won by pin against Lecanto at 135 pounds.

Lecanto's Jimmy Rodriguez (119) won by pin against Crystal River.

Lecanto's Billy Simmons (189) won by pin against Crystal River.

WEIGHTLIFTING: Jessica Baum of Citrus took first in the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference meet in the 154-pound division with a 280-pound total.

Tiffany Boyd of Lecanto won the 199-pound division in the GCAC meet with a 300-pound total -- the best performance by a Citrus County lifter.

Julie Shott of Citrus won the 101-pound division in the CGAC meet with a 215-pound total.

Melissa Thomas of Citrus totaled 270 pounds to win the GCAC's 119-pound division.
