Goemon's Greatest Adventure

  • System: Nintendo 64
  • Price: $49.99
  • Company: Konami

This unmistakably Japanese import may have a lot of weird names in it. Heck, it's just plain weird itself. It also is a completely addicting action game with fun side challenges such as dumpling eating contests and more. Grade: A-

Vigilante 8: Second Offense

  • System: PlayStation
  • Price: $39.99
  • Company: Activision

Vigilante 8 was classic vehicular combat, so how could you improve it? With more vehicles, new areas, and plenty of new power-ups and weapons. Some vehicles are futuristic, such as the moon rover, and some are blasts from the past. All are deadly. Grade: B+

NBA Live 2000

  • System: PlayStation
  • Price: $39.99
  • Company: EASports

NBA Live 2000 should be called NBA Live 1950 through 2000, because it includes 60 legends from NBA seasons past. Besides a good game of pro basketball, Live also lets you go one-on-one with Michael Jordan. Grade: B

NBA Live 2000

  • System: Nintendo 64
  • Price: $49.99
  • Company: EASports

NBA Live 2000 has serious game, even compared to NBA 2K for Dreamcast. Not only that, but every aspect of NBA Live 2000 for N64 also slam-dunks its PlayStation cousin, from the higher resolution graphics to the fast and more fun game play. And while there are no other NBA legends, you can take on Mike. Grade: B+

Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style

  • System: PlayStation
  • Price: $39.99
  • Company: Activision

This game is so violent that it has a parental block feature. Not that the added blood and guts make this dark and difficult-to-control fighter any better. There are far too many special moves that are too hard to pull off to enjoy this one. Grade: D+

Mission: Impossible

  • System: PlayStation
  • Price: $39.99
  • Company: Infogrames

You are Ethan Hunt in this mix of 3-D action and chicanery. Graphics are solid and the missions are intriguing. Unfortunately, the name says it all; this game is next to impossible. Grade: C
