Obst, of Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School recently won the title of Miss Junior Greater Largo. She will travel to New Jersey in July to compete for Miss Junior America. At Morgan Fitzgerald, she is active in various school activities including basketball. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brian A. Obst of Largo have written poems that will be published next fall in a textbook entitled, A Collection of Young Poets. Poems by sixth-grader Alyssa Pereira, seventh-grader Matthew Schenker and eighth-grader Jacqueline Fitzgerald were selected among thousands of national entries. GraduationAmanda Davis, a graduate of Dunedin High, was awarded the Extra Mile Mentor award for her work serving the LEAD Scholars Program at the University of Central Florida. As a mentor, she advised incoming freshmen and helped them to acclimate to college life. Davis is an art major.
