TAMPANew AAUW book group to meet today The Tampa Branch of the American Association of University Women has begun a new book/dinner group for its younger and older working members and others. The group will meet at 5:45 p.m. today at Barnes & Noble Bookstore-South Tampa, 213 N Dale Mabry Highway. Heather Smith will talk about "Are Women Treated Differently Than Men by Doctors?" The Life Center sponsors support groupsThe Life Center, 6811 N Central Ave., offers a variety of ongoing support group meetings and individual counseling. CARROLLWOOD/NORTHDALE/ODESSASenior legal issues to be discussed Jack M. Rosenkranz, an elder care attorney, will present a free seminar on senior legal issues from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday. The topics include power of attorney, living wills, guardianship, health care surrogates, probate and trusts. Club activities offered at YMCAThe Bob Sierra Family YMCA, 4029 Northdale Blvd., offers the Clubhouse YMCA Program designed for its 8- to 12-year-old facility members. The program offers daily activities, sports and games, computer access, and snacks. Club activities include the Mad Scientist, Creative Craft, Cooking, Olympic Games, Hoop-It-Up and the Homework Club. Clubhouse YMCA runs from 2 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays while schools are in session. Bus transportation is provided daily from Claywell, Schwarzkopf, Essrig and Northwest elementary schools. Elderly caretaker seminar offeredA free seminar on issues and choices for becoming a caretaker for the elderly will be offered by Tampa Jewish Family Services at 7 p.m. The seminar, "One Less Thing to Worry About -- Issues and Choices for Becoming the Family Caretaker," will be hosted by Edward Jones Investments. Guest speakers will include Sean Scott, elder law specialist/attorney; Sherri Ferguson, certified financial planner; and Ellen Stoffer, executive director of Tampa Jewish Family Services. TEMPLE TERRACESligh Avenue extension to be discussed Hillsborough County staff and engineers will hold a public meeting to discuss the Sligh Avenue extension in east Hillsborough County.
