CLEARWATER -- Detectives were searching Wednesday for a man who on Tuesday robbed the Subway sandwich shop at 1778 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd.
The robber, who was armed with a handgun, came into the business about 7:50 p.m. and demanded money from an employee, according to Clearwater police spokesman Wayne Shelor. The employee complied, and the man fled with cash. No one was injured and no arrests were made Wednesday, Shelor said. The robber was described as a black man in his late 20s, about 5-feet-9-inches tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket, dark pants and wool knit cap, Shelor said.
