NFL Experience

Features more than 50 interactive games and activities in a 20-acre open air and tented space. Test your football skills in a variety of attractions in which you can run, throw, punt, kick and pass with the pros. Florida’s Beach Super Celebration/Sand Sculpture Spectacular

Gasparilla Pirate Fest

Tampa’s signature celebration, featuring pirate krewes made up of members of Tampa social clubs. Flotilla sails through Hillsborough Bay beginning 11:30 a.m. Invasion, where mayor “surrenders” the city, 1 p.m., Tampa Convention Center. Parade begins 1:45 at Howard Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard. Street festival, with music, food and midway, throughout downtown 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Free concerts include k.d. lang, 6:30 p.m., and Richard Marx, 8, Ashley and Madison streets; and Baha Men, 7:35, and Shaggy, 9:15, in Curtis Hixon Park. Fireworks at 10, Curtis Hixon Park.

Arts on the Ball

Downtown St. Petersburg’s many galleries, museums and shops show off with special admissions and discounts. Participants include the Museum of Fine Arts, which is offering a special exhibit of sports photographs by Harold Edgerton; the Salvador Dali Museum; the Florida Holocaust Museum; the Florida International Museum, with its current exhibit on John F. Kennedy and the Cold War era; the Great Explorations hands-on museum for children; plus music in outdoor and indoor locations all day. Two-for-one admissions at museums and discounts at museum stores and art center shops. Brochure “tickets” listing all events available at museums and galleries. Brochure gives free access to Looper trolley ride among venues.
