    If you were starting an NFL team, what player would you select first?

    "Brett Favre. He's the best player in football. He does whatever it takes to win. I think he's the biggest talent in the game."

    -- Bill Lamb, Gulfport

    * * *

    "Brett Favre. His enthusiasm, he plays hard, he's a team player. He gets his team members going. When Green Bay scores a touchdown, he's running down the field high-fiving guys."

    -- Bill McLaughlin, Palm Harbor

    * * *

    "Napoleon Kaufman of the Raiders. I'll just say him because I know my fiance likes him."

    -- Tara Mascio, St. Petersburg

    * * *

    "I'd have to say Ray Lewis, as the starting foundation of the defense. He's Defensive Player of the Year, first of all, and the defense is what gets you to the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning's the best quarterback in the league these days, in my opinion, but he's not going to the Super Bowl because he doesn't have the defense backing him up."

    -- James Brokaw, Palm Harbor

    * * *

    "Warrick Dunn. I think he's an excellent running back and a good guy all-around, on the football field and off."

    -- Debby Phillips, Clearwater
