Dance lessons offered at Activity CenterBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published January 28, 2001 BROOKSVILLE -- The Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department offers country dance lessons, Community Activity Center, 205 E Fort Dade Ave., on Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. The cost is $5 per two-hour class, ages 4 and up. To register, call 754-4031. Valentine dinner is fundraiser for postAMVETS Post 28 will have its first Valentine's Dinner-Dance on Feb. 16 at Bouma Hall, 1202 Kenlake Ave., Spring Hill. A buffet dinner will be served from 4-6 p.m. with country-western music from 6-10 p.m. The menu features turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls and iced tea; or ham, sweet potatoes, corn, dessert and coffee. The public is invited, and tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door. All proceeds go toward the purchase of the new post. Boy Scouts to host barbecue fundraiserBROOKSVILLE -- Boy Scout Troop 440 will hold a barbecue fundraiser Feb. 3 at Spring Lake Community Center on Spring Lake Highway east of Brooksville. Meals will be served from noon to 6 p.m. Facilities will be available for eat-in and take-out orders. The menu will include a variety of meals and sandwiches. Proceeds will benefit Troop 440 events.
